an interesting day in the not-usually-interesting life of a bum...

started my wednesday morning off to church to serve at 6 in the AM. it was a birthday mass for the presiding priest... there was breakfast after... and, as usual, i was the only one my age there; everyone else were either mid-lifers or octogenarians and every gradation of old in between. food was pretty good, though. buffet. good thing, too. coz it was one of the few things that was tiding me over as everybody else - the oldies - were enjoying the little program (which was mostly talking, except for when the nuns sang, really good until the emcee - who should've just stuck to talking - butted in and started "singing")

after breakfast i was off to gateway to meet up with rica. from there we walked on over to the EDSA MRT station... lo and behold, while we were buying tickets for the train, not a few yards away, was my prom date who i last saw back in first year college. still pretty. but then again she didnt look like she changed much. she was there at the platform too. and as we enter the train she was 2 feet away. there was a momentary familiar glance, but only for the slightest of moments which neither of us acknowledged. i didnt talk to her tho, nor did i smile, all the way till she got off at some station. hehe what a coinkydink.

rica and i got off at Ayala to spend the day shopping. but since we got there 11-ish we were going for some lunch. a couple of texts to some friends and we arranged to meet marjoe and barbs for lunch. we had lunch in mongkok, marjoe referred to it as "some chinese dimsum place" as he lead me and rica (aliens to the area) there; incidentally some of my titas own it. barbs followed suit, and we spent the rest of lunch bashing on certain individuals who shall remain unnamed but, apparently, mutually miffed our lunchtime quartet.

parting ways, me and rica, filled up with dimsum and noodles, went to shop around for some summer clothes. *gasp* i even went into the SM department store and, uncannily, purchased a pair of dept-store-couture walking shorts. i proceeded to bench, human, and islands souvenirs for some more summer thrift shopping. i walked away with a t-top, 2 board shorts, and walking shorts for under 1,500. not a bad haul. but as we walked into U, i spied the Billabong board shorts i had been coming back to again and again in several malls... mmm... yum... all P3,000 worth of brown and plaid (yes, plaid!) synthetic, semi-water-resistant goodness... i'll be back for you my little pretty with some of my parents' cash or when they tell me to let loose on my MC.

i get home about 5. to cool off (i walk to and from the LRT station in the summer heat) and relax i did my daily 45 minutes-worth of laps in the pool. for the rest of the night, well, i've plunked myself back down onto my uber-comfortable bed, got on the net, and semi-watch/patly-listen to AXN.

not a bad day. not bad at all.

stay awhile.
